Thank You Jessi!

Thanks to Jessi at the Aveda Hair School in Denver (on the 16th Street Mall) for one of my best recent haircuts! For $12 and expert precision, the joy from this little pick-me-up should last me for weeks!And thanks to my awesome husband for sparing the green for the cut and to mike and kristin for watching liliana while I got it done...well, all my thanks are over, just in time for the awards ceremony you're-talking-too-long music to play.

What's Up Blog World?! She's Baaaa-aaack

It's summer time finally, and in celebration, a blog post! (thanks to Clifton for the gentle suggestion, by the way.)

Liliana and I are totally loving the warm weather. It means we play outside and don't get so stir-crazy during the day. We also get to convince Tommie to join us outside almost every day for about 30min. after we have lunch together. It rocks...you may notice though, judging by the gash on Lili's forehead, that playing outside does come with its fair share of risks...

Our little boy, growing inside of me currently, is growing fine and continues to make finding an outfit in the morning an ever-growing challenge. (ha, pun intended.) Truett's his name, and he's a very, very, very active little guy.

In more mundane news, I made chicken salad today from a fresh chicken that I boiled and shredded myself. I'm excited to see how it tastes for dinner! I'm also going shopping tonight to supplement Cici's for our church's outreach tomorrow. Called "GLOCAL IMPACT" (Global/Local), the event is a chance for us to get out in the neighborhood around our church and help our neighbors with yard and housework that they wouldn't be able to handle otherwise. Our LifeGroup is hosting the event this year and I'm pretty excited to see how it goes. I know Tommie will be sore from all of the mowing, painting, weeding and whatnot he'll be a party to tomorrow...I, being pregnant of course and exempt from much of the hard labor(at least for tomorrow, ha), will likely NOT end up sore from setting out pizzas, sodas, salads and cookies. I do know that I will be appreciated by our hungry laborers though.

We're making plans to head to Florida in just a few short weeks(over my 24th birthday, no less), and we're psyched to see some of you there. Just so you know, if you're in the Clearwater area on June 5, Tommie will be playing a show at Smiley's that starts at 9p.m. It should be a good time.

July 4 is also coming sooner than I could even think, and we're hoping to make our way up to Copper Mountain with my extended family for the festivities....we shall see how the budget sways...But more on that as time rolls on.

In the meantime, thank God for summer, sunshine and cute little girls in sunglasses!

More Recently....

:: I got seriously ill. Something that went around church, including all of the babies. I gave it to my mom while she was here. She took it home to my dad in Indiana. OOPS!

:: I'm pregnant again! I think I forgot to mention that...ha. So the ill thing at first was confused with having an angry baby until I found out so many other people had gotten sick, including Lili. I'm due September 5.

:: Kristin is in countdown mode for Aspen to arrive! I can't wait to be an aunt.

:: We're going to Alabama for vacation tomorrow until Monday! I'm so excited. We'll get to see friends and ignore work together in a state we surprisingly found we love.

So in the spirit of that blog title...I present to you a picture dump! That way I don't have to write so much to catch you up on what's been going on. So, in late news, you receive this picture post. The next post will be a more recent news post that will have you up to speed!
Christmas came and went. Lili saw Santa and didn't much care for him, though he did come through with some awesome gifts for her, including an Elmo Live. (batteries are already dead!)

Tommie and I went on a really fun date to Qdoba-sans Lili-and then proceeded to go home, where we watched Heroes on DVD from season 1. We finished the season that night!


Lili went sledding with Tommie. I think she had fun until the snow kind of covered her face. Yes, we felt like bad parents. But yes, we still thought it was great.
Kristin had a baby shower! Brittany(sister-in-law) made the awesome tissue flowers hanging from my ceiling. A ton of girls came and we're ready for Aspen anytime!
Grandmommy came to visit for the baby shower and Lili got some extra love...she even got her hair curled:And yes, that's a grin, complete with the glamorous necklace Grandmommy gave Lili. I think she likes looking so "pretty."

I'm Swearing Off Hot Dogs

I ate a hot dog from Sonic on Tuesday. I then proceeded to throw up about 10-11 times through the rest of the night and the night/morning.

Sonic Hot Dog=Food Poisoning.

Snow, With a Chance of An Early Birthday Party

Last Friday, as we hoped, it SNOWED! We even remembered to video tape it. Enjoy this as you watch Lili NOT enjoy meeting snow. (So you are aware, I think she later changed her views on snow to "I still don't like it but it's kind of interesting" when I put a bit in her mouth.)

That day we also had an early ONE YEAR birthday party for Lili so my parents could be there! It was awesome. She got a stuffed Elmo, stacking cups, markers, a stuffed pea-pod baby and a bunch of really cute clothes. She also got to eat a specially designed cake, all by herself. We stripped her down just for cleaning ease. Anyway, she loved it. I mean, she gorged herself until she started looking like she had a serious sugar craze going on in her glazed little eyes and her tummy was three times its normal size. Needless to say, my one year old likes cake. So, though her birthday is really December 10, we enjoyed celebrating it early.

SNOW ALREADY!

There have been plenty of things going on in my life lately. Lili's getting two more teeth, if they ever decided to finally come all the way out of her gums. My folks are still finishing moving. Our church has a ton of stuff going on. But you know what I'm thinking about??

SNOW!!!!

We've have two days so far when the weather men said it would snow, and two days I have been disappointed. However, Friday is another chance for those silly old weather men to finally redeem themselves. I have snow bibs for Liliana, boots for me and we even have a sled already!

Snow, snow, come our way, come our way this Friday!

Christmas is Coming, Christmas is Coming!

So, I know there are pressing matters of State, pressing matters of economy and pressing matters of life. But yesterday, at the Bozich house, we decided to focus briefly on the wonderful news that CHRISTMAS IS COMING!!!

We went up to Golden, CO with Kristin yesterday and got a few Christmas pictures made for our Christmas cards this year. We probably wouldn't be doing Christmas cards if it weren't for our adorable little one, but her dress was so cute and she's changed so much in a year that we couldn't help it!

This isn't the one you'll get on your Christmas cards, but they are a few shots we really liked of our sweet girl and of our family.Thanks Sis!

A Hot Dog Trick or Treats

Liliana trick-or-treated this year at Gramommy and Papi's as a hot dog. For all of her efforts she received a Reese's Pieces....so I guess, a Reese's Piece. She also recently learned to clap and is doing so in this photo. Our hot dog is such a ham. :)

It's Been A While.

I seem to have said that many times since I last posted. This time though, I'm not sorry. I just realized I had too much going on, too much that I didn't want to share yet, and just simply not enough time to post.

I've enjoyed catching up with what's going on with many of you though and though you'd probably all like a little update.

1. My parents are moving to Indiana. In three weeks. For hopefully only 4 years, but who knows. It's a long story, but ends that way, regardless of all the begging and pleading so many of us did in front of God. He has chosen a difficult path, but we know my parents will enjoy their time and find God has truly sent them to Evansville, IN.

2. It's very obviously fall here in Colorado! Lili and I get to dress warmly and enjoy the falling leaves as we wait for the first snow, which I bet will come on Halloween, which conveniently enough is the same day Liliana will be wearing a very warm hot dog costume. :) Yes, it should be amazing.

3. We have had many visits in the past two weeks. Tommie's brother, Kenny, came out last weekend. My friend, Amber, came this week and so did my brother, Grant. It's been SOOO fun, and now hopefully I'll finally get the house put back together.

4. We're going to a corn maze tonight I think! I'm very excited.

5. Tommie has been working on a site called suubiafrica.org and it's stinking awesome. He's so good at what he does.

6. Oh, and I VOTED TODAY! hooray for early voting. Saves me the hassle of waiting in such a long line. I think it took me 15 minutes to get it all done. Awesome.

So, we have a long couple of weeks ahead of us, planning things for my parents and helping them pack. Kristin, and her baby, Aspen Faye, keep getting bigger and we're going to celebrate Kristin's 25th birthday soon....it's just going to be crazy. Then we're headed to Kenny's wedding on Nov. 29.
So, hopefully you'll hear from me again before that.

What's Up With Me?

It's been a while...and I realize that I've said that a few times recently when I've posted. I guess things have just been crazy around here and I guess I don't really feel apologetic about that. :)

So here's what's up:
1.We're in our house and it's slowly coming together. I think I only have about four more boxes to unpack and find places for. Nearly all of the walls are painted, although one of them is so hideous we're going to have to repaint it. OOPS! We picked a yucky color of brown without realizing all of our furniture in that room is also brown. It clashes like you wouldn't believe. So, we're going to paint it a desert red instead. I'm psyched. Pictures, someday, eventually.

2.We just celebrated our anniversary! It was a month late, but it was worth waiting for! Instead of celebrating while we were moving, we had a chance to leave Lili with my mom and dad and went up to a bed and breakfast in between Salida and Buena Vista, Colorado. It was so much fun being just the two of us. We hiked to a waterfall, relaxed in a hot springs, at amazing meals, bought records at an antique store and generally just had an amazing time. Tommie gets major props for planning the whole thing.


3.My hours got cut back at Student Life, from 80 to 30 hours. So, that's quite a drop. However, God is really good and at the same time those hours got reduced, a couple of former bosses of mine have contacted me for contract work. The extra work, this month at least, adds up to about what I was making before. God is soo good. Also, in the midst of this, people are finally starting to take me up on my sewing offers. I've so far hemmed two pairs of pants and have an order for four "hooties" (nursing covers). So that's pretty cool.

4.Liliana is doing great and is growing like a weed still. She's now 17lbs. and 28" long. She's still just crawling, but she's starting to try to pull up on stuff and once you've got her in a standing position on something, she'll hold on and walk a little. It's kind of scary to think of supervising her now actually. Ha.

5.Our church is having some pretty serious financial issues. A couple of our greatest friends are employed by our church too, so we're contemplating some big moves and changes to continue to serve the neighborhood and our church family. Being such a small church, all of these changes are HUGE, so if you think about it, know we'd covet your prayers.

SO TIRED! :)

So, we moved all weekend, Friday included. We finally got all of our stuff in the garage and front room (wood floors) by last night. Now we're just waiting for the carpet to get cleaned today at 12:30. Then we can start actually setting up our house!

Of course, that also means that I'm totally exhausted. We've painted, moved, taken care of kids, run the power point at church, hung out with friends...and now I've decided I'm quitting everything. No more volunteering at church. No more singing on Sundays. No more babysitting other people's kids. No more job. No more cleaning. In fact, I think I'm giving away the dog...and maybe the baby at least for an hour or so....

Actually, maybe I just need a few more nights of good sleep. Then I won't have to quit anything!

So, here's to a new house and hopefully some more sleep!

Olympics. Moving. Tortellini. Exhaustion.

First of all, I have to align myself with my friend Emily, I'm OLYMPIC CRAZED. Pretty much since the opening ceremonies I have been watching just about every event, final and qualifier I can catch. Plus, the mascots are actually really cute this year! Who couldn't love a little happy green panda thing? Or a panda thing in red, yellow, black or blue?! If you haven't caught any yet, you still have time to support the USA in the outstanding job they're doing, not just in athletics, but in their representation of our nation as a whole...I'm proud to be an American with these awesome athletes on the loose! Go USA!

Secondly, we have a new house! I know I already mentioned this, but I neglected to post any pictures or any more information because we were waiting on a closing date and I just didn't want to get my hopes too far up until there was an end to the waiting in sight. We're closing TUESDAY! That's pretty sweet, because that means that when we go out to Landry's Restaurant for crab that night, we'll be celebrating our new house AND our 2 Year Wedding Anniversary! What an eventful week. After we close on Tuesday, we'll spend the rest of the week getting the house painted and ready for our big move on Saturday.

Tomorrow night, we're having some new friends, Kellene and Chris, over for dinner! I made some tortellini salad and we'll probably have some fruit and Kellene is bringing blackberry cobbler (or parfaits, I can't remember). Anyway, we're excited to get to know these two a little better.

As I'm writing this, Tommie's been in bed for a half hour and it's only 10p.m. Suffice it to say, we have a ton ahead of us this week and have left a crazy wave of busyness behind us this past week. It's going to be a test of our limits to get everything done and for us to get to SUNDAY...but we'll get there, albeit probably very exhausted.

Now I'm going to watch the women's 100m track finals and then put myself to bed with my sleeping husband!

The Sculpture House

This is a picture of the Sculpture House on Genesee Mountain in Colorado. It's a crazy architectural piece of history from the 1960s. It used to be a residence and is actually still on the market as one, even as it is owned by a foundation and used as a high-falutin' events hall type of thing right now.

It's also one of the coolest landmarks in the state in my opinion. When I was a kid, we used to drive up to a time share in Winter Park with all my aunts and uncles and cousins. We always knew we were getting close when we got to the "Jetson House." It's also a favorite with out of town visitors. They always ask, "what is that?"

The Sculpture House is private though and you can't just drive up and walk around in it. But guess what? I GET TO GO INTO THE SCULPTURE HOUSE! That's right! My mom, being a certified kitchen and bath designer, got invited to a home show sponsored by Benjamin Moore Paints and she got to choose one guest to go along with her. AND SHE CHOSE ME!

I'm so psyched. We're going tomorrow and hopefully will get to take lots of pictures. I can't wait! We'll see if the Sculpture House is worth its hype tomorrow.

The Month of July

WOW! The last time I had time to post was almost exactly a month ago! How is it that summer can be both simultaneously relaxing and jam-packed? Whatever the case, that's how our July has been. So, I'm going to pack all of July into a single photo-filled glance:

1. We had an awesome July 4 at my Gran & Gramps' house. We also celebrated Gramps' birthday. It was incredibly fun.

2. We then went on our road trip and it was a TRIP! Lili did great in the car and the camp was so much fun. Tommie and the guys did a great job leading worship and we met so many great kids. Tommie even got into the spirit of the talent show night...

3. My sister, Kendra, and her husband, Josh, joined us in Nashville at Gina & Greg's (family friends) house for an incredible weekend that was an awesome dose of family togetherness. It was so great.

4. We bought a HOUSE! Haha. That's right. We will be closing on our new house sometime in the beginning of August. Surprisingly enough, I don't have pictures of it yet, but will in short order. We'll rent out our condo and start loving and living in our new abode. It's in a great school district and has a fenced in backyard for our outdoor-loving puppy. I think it's going to be so great. God truly, truly blessed us with this investment.

5. That's actually about it. We've had a week or two to catch up from our roadtrip and then we get to celebrate our anniversary on August 19. We've almost been married two years! So, it's a very wonderful month behind us and a very wonderful month ahead of us!

Date Night=LOVE

So, Liliana's a big girl now. She had her first spend-the-night.

For the first night in the six months of Lili's life, I spent the night away from her so that Tommie and I could go on an AMAZING date night! I have the best husband...
We drove about 20minutes north to Arvada, CO, to go rock climbing and to play around at an indoor water park-ish/pool at the Apex Center.

It was such a fun night! We had dinner at Qdoba and then came home, ate pina-colada Jell-O and went grocery shopping at 11p.m.!!! Haha, it's so funny how the simple pleasures can be so exciting when you're not stressing about a puppy and a baby. We had a blast. I didn't even cry when we went to bed without our baby at home. I knew she was safe and sound at my parents' house.

Anyway, kudos to Tommie for planning such a fun night. We'll probably end up back at the Apex Center to just play sometime too, we liked it so much. As far as Liliana goes, well, it seemed like she had fun, but boy did she look happy to see us when we went to pick her up this morning! We're definitely doing more of these over night dates. :)

Let's Have A Baby, Baybeee!

No. We're not pregnant again. I know someone who's pregnant for the first time and just found out in the past week. I also know someone who's pregnant and found out about a month ago. And I know about 12-13 girls who just finished being pregnant and now are raising little babies.

It seems like babies are everywhere. Personally, I think most of that is GREEEAT! I love little ones and am enjoying mommyhood a great deal. But I read something a bit disturbing today and I thought it was worth a note:

A TIME Magazine article documented that at Gloucester High School (presumably in New York, on the coast), 18 girls of their 1,200-student school will be having babies this summer. Sixteen of those girls made a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together. One of them even made a baby with a 24-year-old homeless man.
Here are these girls, young, still kids themselves (I mean seriously, how ridiculous was I when I was 16??!?!), wanting to get pregnant. Apparently, the nurse at the school said more girls were concerned when the pregnancy tests she administered were negative than positive!

The article went on to interview a classmate of these girls who seemed to have some insight into why these young mommies might want babies: perhaps, in a town where broken families of fishermen losing their jobs are the norm, perhaps these girls just want someone to love them unconditionally.

I've watched in amazement as so many stars and celebrities are getting pregnant and I know those are influential people....some of them will be great parents and are pregnant because they truly want to raise a child and to nurture a life. Some though, I think, likely want kids for the same reason that student stated above-they just want someone to love them. I have a dear friend who I fear wants a child for the same reason.

Are people so hungry for love they would misuse another's life to fulfill their own? The sad part is, we look for love in other people far too often...we RELY on love from other people far too often. The love these girls need, the only truly unconditional love these girls need, is the love of Christ and from Christians around them. The love these expectant babies need, coming into a world where there are already so many expectations and hopes put upon them, the love these babies need is the love of Christ.

An interesting story with no simple answers...except that Christ heals. I'm going to pray for these girls, their babies, and those lonely women and men out there hoping children will fill their lives.

My baby was...BORN IN THE USA...

I made Liliana a July 4 outfit this weekend. Her great-grandpa is turning 80 this year and we're hosting him a birthday bash on Independence Day. I thought it would be fun for Lili to be dressed up, so here's what I cooked up with help from a magazine my sister Kendra got me for my birthday:

The Cleanest Little Piggy

I saw this story on BBC today and thought it was hysterical:

Mud phobia pig gets its own boots

A piglet scared of wallowing in mud has overcome its fears with the help of some Wellington boots.

Six-week-old Cinders appears to suffer from mysophobia, a fear of dirt, after refusing to join her siblings as they splashed around in the mud.

Owner Andrew Keeble from Thirsk, North Yorks, said his daughter Ellie, 12, suggested kitting her out in the tiny footwear which had been on a key ring.

"Lo and behold they fitted her like a glove," Mr Keeble said.

"She's scared of mud, but her brothers and sisters are quite happy in it.

"We've never come across this before. They are born really to go and explore, but she never really liked going in the mud."

No slaughter

Mr Keeble and wife Debbie, both 42, run a sausage company and keep about 200 pigs on their 1,000-acre farm.

But the father-of-four said there was no chance that Cinders would be slaughtered.

"She's more of a pet really now and she's going to live a very long and happy life," he said.

The young saddleback has been chosen by the couple as a mascot for their campaign to raise money for the Farm Crisis Network, which supports struggling farmers.

Sketch. Definitely Sketch.

So, last night, after a wonderful dinner with my parents, Kristin, Mike and me and Tommie (plus Lil) went to the dollar theater to see the movie "21."

We paid $1.75 each. It was awesome.
Except we don't know how the movie ends.

With 30 minutes left to go, the movie just stopped playing and the lights came up like it was over. After someone finally went out to get one of the ever-so-helpful employees, one of them came in and said there was a malfunction and that we could get free passes from him.

Much to our surprise, after we got our free pass and exited the theater, there were about 150 Indian people in line outside of our theater-no joke. They all were waiting to enter and I guess see a Bollywood film on the big screen. Apparently they rent out the theater once a month or week or something.

So, it seems as though they stopped our movie early and KICKED US OUT!!! so they could watch their movie! ha!!! Is that not the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard!

Anyone know how the movie ends?
