Girl, I don't blame you. I had to stop eating them several years ago because it didn't matter what the brand was I would end up throwing up all night too. When you think about it though, other than the American tradition, we're not missing out on a whole lot.
Now, you need to ask your Uncle B about food poisoning to determine if you got sick from the dog or something else. Lots of folks blame one thing for food poisoning when it could be something else.
